Director Kedar Yashodhara Shinde, known for giving a distinct identity to women-centric and family-oriented themes in Marathi cinema, is coming before audiences with yet another unique and thought-provoking concept. Following the success of films like Agambai…Arechcha!, Baipan Bhari Deva, and Aga Aga Sunbai! Kay Mhantay Sasubai?, the announcement of his new film ‘Aai Bhadyane Havi?’ has now been made.
Produced by Sunflower Studio, the story and screenplay of the film are written by Vaishali Shashi Naik and Omkar Vasundhara Datt, while cinematography and editing are handled by Mayur Sanjivani Hardas. Notably, after Aga Aga Sunbai! Kay Mhantay Sasubai?, the team of producer Sana Shinde, director Kedar Shinde, writer Vaishali Shashi Naik, and writer Omkar Vasundhara Datt is reuniting once again, increasing the excitement around the film.
Director Kedar Shinde says, “Handling women-centric subjects is always a responsibility and a challenge. I had firmly decided not to begin such a film unless the story truly connects with me. Work on both Aga Aga Sunbai! Kay Mhantay Sasubai? and ‘Aai Bhadyane Havi?’ began in 2023. This film carries a glimpse of the storytelling style of Rajkumar Hirani, whom I deeply admire. It’s not just a comedy—it presents the essence of the ‘mother’ relationship and offers a deeply touching experience. Along with entertainment, making the audience think has always been my aim, and that will be strongly felt in this film. Even the title reflects the emotional longing of today’s times. Casting is currently underway, and audiences will get to see ‘mothers’ from different age groups. Shooting will begin in June–July.”
