Mazher Sayed plays the role of Ashnoor Kaur’s father in Jabb Zodiacs Met, which has been created by Ishika Shahi, produced by Rajan Shahi’s Director’s Kut Production, and conceptualized by Pearl Grey. It is a 12-episode series that revolves around various Zodiac signs and their compatibility and is streaming on DKP’s official YouTube channel.
Mazher shared that he found the concept very intriguing and said, “It beautifully blends astrology with present-day relationships, which makes it relatable yet slightly mystical. I have always been curious about zodiac signs and planetary influences, so being part of a story that explores that space felt exciting.”
“It’s not just about love; it’s about timing, destiny, and how the universe plays its part in bringing people together,” he added. He went on to reveal how his concept about zodiacs and sun signs has evolved over the years and said, “When we were children, we only really knew about sun signs. According to that, I’m a Piscean. Over time, I’ve read about zodiac signs, kundlis, and planetary traits out of curiosity.”
When preparing for the role, he did reflect on some Piscean qualities, like emotional depth, intuition, and sensitivity. He said, “I could relate to certain aspects of my character. Of course, you don’t blindly follow astrology, but sometimes the traits resonate in surprising ways.”
“In real life, I think intuition defines me. As a Piscean, I do rely a lot on my instincts. I believe in energies, but I don’t treat them as rules—I take what resonates with me and leave the rest,” he added. Asked what was the most challenging part of portraying emotions that are influenced by astrology, he said, “The biggest challenge was to keep it real. Astrology is abstract, but emotions are very real. So instead of playing the ‘zodiac’ element, I focused on the human experience—vulnerability, hope, confusion, attraction.”
“The key was to ground everything in honesty rather than making it feel exaggerated or mystical,” Mazher added.
